She made many valid points on the way the industry has changed in the past ten years. Rebecca also pointed out that even though the paper book will still be with us for some time to come, e-book publication is growing. Eventually, she sees the quality of the writing in e-books rising as well the pricing.
Many of the things she touched upon were confirmations of things I’d learned in other meetings or workshops. The one thing I hadn’t thought of, however, was an e-newsletter. Duh! Such a simple way to get the word out about what’s going on in my literary world, I can’t believe it hadn’t occurred to me. So that’s what I plan to do. Starting in September, I plan to start an e-newsletter. All you have to do is visit my website www.memay-mysteries.com to sign up to receive it.
I’ve added choices to my Contact section where a person can indicate whether or not they wish to receive the e-newsletter. In the e-newsletter, I plan to include a countdown to launch, upcoming events for me and my fellow authors, and some short newsy items. Once you've signed up, make sure all of your family and friends do the same.
Until next time.
