I've been busy this week charting out my marketing plan with the help of my very organized friend, Barb Dworak. We've been putting tasks into spreadsheets. I've contacted bookstores to set up signings and plan to start visiting local libraries. I need to check with local merchants to see if I can leave my business cards on their counters with countless others. And, of course, I must keep updating my website and socialize on Facebook.
So, when does a girl get to work on novel #3? Somehow I eke it in. I'm almost finished with a first draft, but have some confirming to do. I sent my chapters on search and recovery dogs to the Indiana K9 Search and Recovery in Indianapolis. They've invited me to come visit and actually witness the training of these dogs. They also gave me some good advice to make my chapters more accurate. I'll let you know what happens after I visit.
My husband has been a dream. He not only stays out of my hair so I can take care of all of this, but is the first to brag about my writing career and hand out my business cards to all those mystery lovers out there. If it weren't for him, I might not have found the time or confidence to start this journey.
So, here I go into my whirlwind year of first-time writer adventures. Keep watching as I add book signings to the My Schedule section. Wouldn't want you to miss out on your opportunity for a signed copy! Until next time.
